Pelvic Floor PT

Meet Emily Pace, DPT, COMT

Emily Pace is a pelvic floor physical therapist with over 14 years of experience helping people feel strong, capable, and confident in their bodies — especially during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum recovery.

Emily’s work combines body awareness and biomechanics, so you’ll walk away with a deeper understanding of your body and practical skills you can use in daily life as well as during labor and birth.

Appointments are one-on-one in a private space which enables faster results and more individualized care.

Emily can help with:

  • knowing how to push during birth (see below to read more!)
  • urinary incontinence
  • pelvic pain/pelvic girdle pain
  • low back/sciatic pain
  • hip pain or discomfort
  • round ligament pain

Individual appointments are $150.
Discounts are available when purchasing appointments in packs of 3 or 6 and to current Roots & Wings Midwifery clients.

Prenatal PUSH PRACTICE : $400

One of the most unique parts of Emily’s work is her Push Practice technique. This is a prenatal session that is specifically designed to help clients prepare for the physical act of pushing before labor begins.

During Push Practice, clients:

  • Learn what effective pushing feels like in their own body

  • Practice cues and positions that support coordinated pushing based on their pelvic floor and body awareness

  • Become more comfortable with the sensations of pushing to birth a baby

  • Develop the confidence to communicate their individual needs with their birth team

Emily can also incorporate ultrasound imaging during Push Practice so you can see what’s happening as you try different positions and cues. This helps build body awareness and is incredibly empowering to see your body at work!

Doing Push Practice with Emily is not about forcing birth or giving birth the “right way.” After all, there is no “right way” to give birth!

It’s about body awareness, coordination, and confidence.

It’s about finding what works for your body, and your baby in this pregnancy.

Push Practice is best done after addressing any pre-existing pelvic floor issues.
